Susan Kramer MP for Richmond Park
Re-zone Kingston to Zone 5

Susan Kramer MP is working with neighbouring MP Ed Davey to campaign to get Kingston station re-zoned to cut rail fares.

Susan Kramer MP is campaigning to get Kingston station re-zoned to Zone 5.

During the London Mayoral campaign, Boris Johnson told local newspapers - the Kingston Informer and the Surrey Comet - that he would support the campaign of Susan Kramer and Edward Davey, to win cheaper rail fares for local people, by having Kingston station moved from zone 6 to zone 5.

However, since the election Boris Johnson has failed to express support for the campaign, and has failed to respond to requests to meet Susan Kramer and Ed Davey.

Did you know?

  • Kingston Station is in Zone 6, but it is only 12 miles from Waterloo - close to the average zone 5 distance of 11.8 miles away.

  • There are 23 stations further away from London that are already in Zone 5!

  • Zonal pricing was introduced for single and day return tickets in January 2007 - and fares rose by over 35%.

  • Local MPs Susan Kramer and Ed Davey want a firm commitment that these rises will not be repeated for season tickets.

Susan Kramer said "I won't take no for an answer on this issue - I will continue to push the Mayor to keep his promises and give local travellers a fair deal on our trains."
