Susan Kramer MP has long been campaigning to make our secondary schools as excellent and well-used as our primary schools. Susan supported the campaign by a group of local parents for action at Shene School. Susan Kramer said "I am really pleased that the council has listened to local people and parents, and has announced that it is to make Shene School an academy." "The central goal of creating an academy at Shene is to improve educational standards, and promote excellence there, so that local parents feel confident about sending their children to the school." The plans are still at an early stage, but they will mean millions of pounds of investment pouring into the school, including into new facilities and buildings for the pupils and to benefit the local community. An educational charity called Edutrust have been chosen to sponsor the new academy. Edutrust is very keen to engage with the local community, parents, pupils and stakeholders throughout the whole process. More information about Edutrust.
Susan Kramer is supporting North Kingston parents in their quest for a local secondary school. Susan is working with the two local councils to secure funding from the Government to improve Greycourt to allow children from both boroughs to attend it, and is also working closely with Kingston on its plans for future secondary school provision.
