FLYING THE FLAG FOR OUR ARMED FORCES

Susan Kramer MP joins veterans and Mayor of Richmond Celia Hodges to raise the flag for Armed Forces Day.

Susan Kramer, MP for Richmond Park and North Kingston, attended a flag raising ceremony at the Royal Star and Garter Home in Richmond on Monday, to celebrate the new Armed Forces Day.

The MP joined the Mayor of Richmond, Cllr Celia Hodges, and Colonel M Cuthbert-Brown, Director Corps of Army Music at Kneller Hall for the ceremony.

They were welcomed by Vice Admiral Sir John Dunt, Chairman of the Royal Star & Garter's Board of Governors, Falklands veteran Simon Weston, a Vice President of the Charity, and its Chief Executive Air Commodore Mike Barter.

Susan Kramer MP commented:

"It is so important that we show our support to our armed forces. The men and women in the armed forces community make sacrifices for us every day, and this is our opportunity to show how much we appreciate them.

"Flying the flag is a demonstration of our support and thanks to those who have served in our armed forces, past present and future."
