MP CALLS FOR NEW PRIMARY SCHOOL FOR NORTH KINGSTON

2.12.16pm GMT Fri 27th Feb 2009

Susan Kramer MP has called for a new primary school for North Kingston to help meet rising demand for primary school places.

Kingston Borough Council today announced that it is to create bulge classes at Fern Hill, Alexandra and Latchmere Primary Schools in Richmond Park and North Kingston.

Susan Kramer MP commented:

"All of these schools are popular and well-regarded by the local community. This increase in pupil numbers is a phenomenon across south west London, and the high level of demand is a sign that our primaries are the best in the area."

"It is time for a permanent expansion in the number of places available in the area, and I am calling for a new primary school for North Kingston."

"I am asking the council and the Government to start consulting on these plans as soon as possible, so that the consultation process is complete by the end of the school year."
