SUSAN KRAMER OVERWHELMINGLY RE-SELECTED TO FIGHT NEXT GENERAL ELECTION

Richmond Park and North Kingston MP Susan Kramer was on Friday unanimously readopted as the Liberal Democrat candidate for the seat she has represented since the last election.

In her speech to party members at the Library at Greycourt School in North Kingston, Susan Kramer reflected on her work as the local MP since 2005, and told members what a privilege it had been to represent local people.

Commenting after the meeting, Susan Kramer said:

"It is a great privilege to have represented this constituency and its many communities since 2005."

"Serving local people as an MP has been such an honour and it has been such a pleasure to be able to take up the problems and concerns of my constituents."

"I have been so proud to be able to use my position as an MP to open doors that may previously have been shut, and to help achieve real improvements in peoples' lives."

"We have won some hard fought battles over the last two and a half years - to get ex-Waterloo platforms allocated to South West Trains, for better recycling services and for Safer Neighbourhood Police Teams."

"But there are so many battles yet to be won. I look forward to working with my Liberal Democrat colleagues locally and in Westminster to continue the fight to stop Heathrow expansion, to protect our valuable green spaces and to tackle crime."
