MP WELCOMES TETRA-PAK RECYCLING SCHEME

12.33.44pm UTC (GMT +0000) Tue 5th Aug 2008

Susan Kramer, MP for Richmond Park and North Kingston has welcomed the announcement today that residents in Richmond Borough are to be able recycle plastic cartons.

Recycling banks are being introduced across the borough to allow residents to recycle tetra-pak drinks cartons.

Susan Kramer commented:

"I think this is a really positive step. So many people contact me to say that they want to be able to recycle more of their rubbish, and being able to recycle cartons is a good start."

"I will however be asking the council to increase the number of sites at which Tetrapaks can be recycled, as the present proposal only includes one site, in Barnes in the Richmond side of the borough."

"We need to make recycling as easy as possible, so I would like to see more easily accessible recycling points across the borough."
