MASSIVE RESPONSE TO MP'S CALL FOR TEMPORARY POST OFFICE FOR EAST SHEEN

4.06.05pm BST (GMT +0100) Wed 16th Jul 2008

Susan Kramer MP has received a massive response to her call for a temporary Post Office facility to be provided for East Sheen.

Susan Kramer MP commented:

"I have already received hundreds of completed slips at my constituency office, all supporting my call for a temporary Post Office facility to be provided for local people. Thank you to everyone who has let me know how important the East Sheen Post Office is to them."

"I also asked people to let me know what effect the closure is having on them, and it is clear that local people are suffering. Elderly people and those with mobility problems are finding it really difficult to access other Post Offices."

"And those who are travelling further afield report that other Post Offices in the vicinity are struggling to cope with the increased demand, meaning that customers are often having to wait in queues for long periods."

"I am meeting with representatives from the Post Office on Tuesday to continue to push for a mobile facility, and I will continue to keep local people informed of any more developments."
